I'm Karen the drummer. I've been playing drums all this century, and with Isthison since 2002. Drumming has been a lifelong ambition, but it's probably one of the most awkward instruments to decide to play. Room for an acoustic kit had to be considered when recently purchasing our new house, not to mention room for my husband's guitars and amps.
I like the heavier rock songs that we do now, but also enjoy playing laid back blues rhythms. My favourite type of music is actually 70s disco and 80s pop, but they are not necessarily that great to play, and I really enjoy the 60s songs that we do. Singing lead on songs is great fun, but coming up with backing vocals and harmonies together is really rewarding when it sounds good.

Other than playing in the band, I work part time as a Sales support Administrator, and the rest of the time I look after my two young sons, and dabble in amateur dramatics and choir singing, with Humdrum Amdram.
